πŸ“‹ Preparation

To come prepared to this lab, make sure you have:

  • Attended the πŸ—£οΈ W05 Lecture
  • Started working on your ✍️ Mini-Project I
  • Specific questions about data visualisation or your project implementation

πŸ›£οΈ Lab Structure (90-min)

Note to class teachers: Flexible support session - help individually or do short demos for common issues. Encourage peer support. OK to use ChatGPT for plot syntax. For Python/pandas, ChatGPT is showing counter-productive at this stage in the course (better used at the end of the course in bigger projects). It tends to produce overly complex code that works but students struggle to understand and modify later to adapt to their project, so better avoided at this stage for general coding.

🦸🏻 This lab is a SUPER TECH SUPPORT session!

Use the entire session to make progress on your ✍️ Mini-Project I and get help with:

  • General project implementation questions
  • Planning your visualisations
  • lets-plot syntax
  • Pandas tricks

Remember: The ✍️ Mini-Project I is due on 27 February 2025, 8pm UK time. Use this lab time wisely!

When asking for help:

  1. Clearly explain what you’re trying to achieve
  2. Show what you’ve tried so far
  3. Share any error messages you’re getting
